The goal of this website is to elevate the hobby and passion of birding, which is an engaged version of birdwatching (at least for me).
Birdwatching is great, but, to me, it feels like too passive of a term for how think about observing and admiring birds.
“Birding” is a much better term for my active pursuit observing and learning about birds.
And, if you are someone who loves searching for and learning about birds, then you are a birder.
Then, there’s being a Byrder.

Being a Byrder means appreciating birds at a level most others think is a little weird.
But, we Byrders know that observing birds brings a special kind of joy and fulfillment to our lives, so it’s something we will always do.
